As a company, we are thrilled to be able to support
Miracle Babies Foundation, Australia’s leading organisation supporting premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them. Meagan, Co-founder & Managing Director of Redsbaby, spoke with Kylie from Miracle Babies about how important funding is during the COVID-19 crisis.
Every year in Australia, around 48,000 newborn babies require the help of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN). 27,000 of these babies are born premature and up to 1,000 babies lose their fight for life. Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia’s leading organisation supporting these premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them.
When COVID-19 hit, Miracle Babies reached out to Redsbaby; they needed help to transform their in-person Nurture Time sessions to an online experience.
“NurtureTime in-hospital support is facilitated by caring parents who themselves have experienced the birth of premature or sick newborn. Our qualified NurtureTime Volunteers visit the hospital to offer support, guidance and hope. Parents, family and friends can ask questions, share their thoughts and feelings’ knowing the volunteer has a shared experience.”
As a brand, we understand when a baby comes into the world not as expected or planned, it is life changing. Without support, this overwhelming and traumatic experience can have lifelong effects on the emotional wellbeing of these miracle families. It affects the entire family unit. We wanted to do everything that we could to help Miracle Babies and the families who they support.
We’re also supporting families and couples that have recently come across hardship in our community by donating product they would otherwise need to forgo, to enrich their family journey. If you know a family in need, please nominate them
via our website.
